Resources for WeCare Participants
Thank you for joining me at WeCare. Professional intuition doesn’t always give us an answer. Sometimes it simply tells us to pay attention.
This page brings together the key practices from our workshop so you can continue using them in your work and daily life.
A Daily Awareness Practice
Don’t add another task to your day. Attach PAUSE to something you already do — before your first patient or meeting, while washing your hands, after a difficult interaction, or before leaving work.
Then ask: What am I noticing? Does anything need my attention?
The goal isn’t to create another obligation. It’s to create a small, intentional moment in which you reconnect with what is already present.
PAUSE Method™
PAUSE is a simple practice for creating enough space to notice what’s happening around us and within us before we automatically move on or react.
P — PAUSE: Stop for a moment.
A — ACKNOWLEDGE: What am I noticing?
U — UNDERSTAND: Get curious. What might be going on?
S — STAY: Stay with what you’re noticing without needing an immediate answer.
E — ENGAGE: Decide what, if anything, you want to do.
